What is PMP?
PMP Stands for Project Management Professional, it's certified from PMI (Project Mamagement Institute). PMP is to ensure of the highest professional and ethical standards within the community of practicing
Project Management Professionals. 
 
What are the PMP certification requirements? PMP eligibility criteria?
Any candidates must satisfy all requirements in one of the following two categories to complete the PMP Certification process and to be eligibile to take the exam. These categories are
:
 
Category 1: Baccalaureate degree holder , In this case the candidate must:
1. During the past six years, candidate must has at least three years experience in projects managements. This does not mean that candidate must be project manager, it means he should participate in projects (stakeholder). Within these three years, candidate should has 4500 hours experience within the recognized projects management process groups.
2. 35 of formal training in project management should be taken. One hour of approved classroom instruction equals one contact hour. 
3. Passing the PMP exam. :)
 
Category 2: No baccalaureate degree  , In this case the candidate must:
1. During the past eight years, candidate must has at least five years experience in projects managements. This does not mean that candidate must be project manager, it means he should participate in projects (stakeholder). Within these three years, candidate should has 7500 hours experience (Average 1500 hour per year) within the recognized projects management process groups.
2. 35 of formal training in project management should be taken. One hour of approved classroom instruction equals one contact hour. 
3. Passing the PMP exam. :)
 
How to apply for the exam ?
There are two ways, either online using PMI website (pmi.org) or usig paper form. There are three sections for any application :
1. PMP Education form.
2. PMP Experience verificaion form.
3. PMP Examination application form.
 
How much PMP Certification cost ?
The fee is 555$ for non PMI members. It is 405$ for PMI members. Membership is 129$, hence it's cheaper and will get the membership benefits.
 
How long PMI needs to review my application ?
Generally, they will need around 5 business working days. After approving your application, the eligibility letter will be sent/emailed to the candidate with the identification code and more details for reserving the exam (taking the exam). PMP exam should be taken within 12 months of gaining the eligibility. You have the right to write the exam three times within this year, be carefull.

While filling up the application, you have to be honest and very accurate. PMI randomly audit a percentage of the applications, Candidate must keep in mind that he/she could be in this percentage -whom will be audited-. This audit involves formal verification to your school(s) and employer. Don't ever add something you do not have or cheat while filling the application. If PMI find invalid information while they are auditing the application, candidate will not be able to take the exam. Even after gaining the PMP certification and somehow PMI found invalide information in your application, PMP certification will be stripped of.
