The first thing that you require once you have bought your computer is to go for an operating system such as Windows. Your operating system is entirely your choice but for the latest one which is Windows 7 or Windows Vista premium. You can also go for Macintosh. The choice is completely yours.

The memory, processor and the hard drive should be your next considerations before you go onto to install software into your computer. The memory of your computer indicates the storage capacity that you wish to have. You should get as much RAM memory as your system can take. There is no limit to that. A better RAM complements a faster processor speed and gives you the best possible and efficient speed that it is able to. Also, the size of your hard drive at same time will determine the amount of data that you can store in your computer. If you wish to store a lot of multimedia related data, then be sure to get a big hard drive for your computer.

The best processors are dual-core and there are many leading brands that are highly competitive in the field of providing the best processors. You should do okay with the company fitted processor and if you are simple home user then a very high-speed technical type processor might not be your need.

Buying a new computer doesn’t mean that you have had it all, you will have to upgrade and maintain it to date since technology changes very fast especially in the field of computers.
